- 1 large white onion (peeled, root intact)
- 1 tbsp olive oil (or melted butter)
- 1 tsp Old Bay or Cajun seasoning (adjust to taste)
- ½ tsp smoked paprika
- ½ tsp salt
- ¼ tsp black pepper
- 2 tbsp unsalted butter (melted, for drizzling)
- 1 clove garlic (minced)
- Juice of ½ lemon (optional)
- Fresh parsley (chopped, for garnish)
Instructions
- Peel the onion and leave the root intact. Place it in a bowl and drizzle with olive oil.
- Season the onion with salt, pepper, Old Bay seasoning, smoked paprika, and coat every surface.
- Preheat the air fryer to 375°F (190°C) and cook the onion for 20-25 minutes, checking for doneness at 15 minutes.
- Melt butter in a small pan, add minced garlic, and cook until fragrant (about 1-2 minutes).
- Drizzle the garlic butter over the cooked onion and add lemon juice and parsley as a garnish.
- Slice the onion into wedges and serve warm.
