- 2 large apples (Honeycrisp or Granny Smith)
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- 1 large egg
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 cup panko breadcrumbs
- 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
- Nonstick cooking spray
Instructions
- Prep your apples: Peel and cut the apples into fry-like sticks. Pat them dry with a paper towel.
- Set up your coating stations: Bowl 1 for flour, Bowl 2 for whisked egg and milk, Bowl 3 for mixed breadcrumbs, sugar, and cinnamon.
- Coat the apple sticks in flour, then dip in the egg mixture, and finally roll in the breadcrumb mixture.
- Air fry after lightly spraying the coated apple fries with nonstick cooking spray, placing them in a single layer in your air fryer basket.
- Cook at 380°F (190°C) for about 7–9 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through.
- Serve warm with caramel dip, yogurt, or whipped cream.
Notes
Experiment by using different apple varieties or adding nuts and spices to elevate the flavor.
