- 2 cups long grain white rice
- 2 tablespoons butter
- 1 tablespoon minced garlic
- 4 cups water (or chicken/vegetable broth)
- 2 tablespoons tomato paste
- 1 tablespoon Knorr Chicken Bouillon Powder
Instructions
- Rinse the rice in a fine-mesh strainer under cold water until the water runs clear. Set aside.
- In a large skillet over medium heat, melt the butter until bubbly.
- Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 3 minutes until fragrant and starting to turn golden.
- Add the rinsed rice to the skillet, stirring to coat with the butter and garlic. Cook for about 10 minutes until lightly toasted.
- In a bowl, whisk together the water, tomato paste, and chicken bouillon powder until smooth.
- Pour the liquid mixture over the toasted rice, stir well to combine.
- Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to a gentle simmer. Cover and cook for 25-30 minutes, until all liquid is absorbed.
- Fluff the rice with a fork and serve immediately.
Notes
This dish can be customized with leftover vegetables, beans, or proteins.
