Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and salt.
- Add eggs, vanilla extract, and sour cream; stir until a dough begins to form.
- Dust a clean surface with flour and knead the dough gently for 3-5 minutes.
- Roll out the dough into an 1/8 inch thick rectangle and cut into 2-inch strips.
- Twist each strip into a knot shape.
- Heat oil to 350°F.
- Fry cookies for 2-3 minutes per side or until golden brown.
- Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels; dust generously with powdered sugar.
Notes
These cookies can be customized by adding cinnamon or chocolate chips. They can be frozen for up to a month.
