Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 3 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 inch ginger, minced
  • 1 red bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 carrot, julienned
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon oyster sauce (or vegetarian oyster sauce)
  • 1 teaspoon sesame oil
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 green onions, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds

Instructions

  1. Prep Your Veggies: Slice cabbage, red bell pepper, and green onions. Julienne the carrot.
  2. Make the Sauce: Mix soy sauce, oyster sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, sugar, and black pepper in a bowl.
  3. Heat the Wok: Heat vegetable oil in a large wok over medium-high heat.
  4. Aromatics First: Add minced garlic and ginger, stir-fry for about 30 seconds.
  5. Add Vegetables: Stir-fry bell pepper and carrot for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Cabbage Time: Add sliced cabbage and stir-fry for 5-7 minutes, stirring frequently.
  7. Pour the Sauce: Pour sauce over vegetables and toss well.
  8. Final Stir-fry: Stir-fry for another 2 minutes to combine flavors.
  9. Garnish & Serve: Remove from heat, sprinkle with green onions and sesame seeds, and serve hot.
