Description

A quick and easy baked eggs dish utilizing puff pastry, cheese, and herbs for a comforting family meal.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup grated cheese (Gruyère or Parmesan)
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs (like chives or parsley) for garnish

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface to about 1/4 inch thick, then cut it into squares.
  3. Place the pastry in a greased pie dish or baking dish and pre-bake for 10-15 minutes until slightly golden.
  4. Whisk together the eggs, heavy cream, grated cheese, salt, and pepper in a bowl until homogenous.
  5. Pour the egg mixture over the pre-baked pastry, ensuring it’s evenly distributed.
  6. Bake in the oven for another 20-25 minutes until the eggs are set and the top is golden brown.
  7. Garnish with fresh herbs and serve warm.

Notes

Feel free to customize with any vegetables or additional herbs you have on hand. Leftovers can be stored in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or frozen before baking.
