- 1 cup heavy cream
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 2 cups cherries (canned, fresh, or frozen)
- 1/4 cup cherry juice
- 2 cups vanilla pudding
- 1/2 cup dark chocolate shavings
- 1 tablespoon cocoa powder (optional)
Instructions
- Bake the chocolate cake according to the instructions and let it cool completely for about 30 minutes.
- Whip the heavy cream until thick, gradually adding powdered sugar and vanilla until stiff peaks form.
- Prepare cherries by draining canned ones or pitting fresh ones; toss cherries with cherry juice.
- Layer crumbled chocolate cake, cherries, vanilla pudding, and whipped cream in a trifle dish. Repeat layers, ending with whipped cream on top.
- Cover and chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours or overnight to allow flavors to meld.
