Description

Blue salt trick recipe is perfect for anyone who loves to experiment with flavors and elevate their meals with minimal effort. It’s for those who want to add a bit of luxury to their cooking, but don’t have to spend hours in the kitchen. With just a few ingredients, you can make something that will make everyone at the table ask, “What’s your secret?”

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/4 cup Blue Salt (You can find Himalayan blue salt online or at specialty stores.)
  • 1/4 cup Sea Salt
  • 1 tsp Lemon Zest (This adds a fresh, citrusy twist that pairs perfectly with the salt.)
  • 1/2 tsp Black Pepper (Optional, for a little heat.)

Instructions

  1. Mix the salts: In a small bowl, combine the blue salt and sea salt. Stir until well-mixed. The blue salt will add a gorgeous color that will make your salt blend stand out.

  2. Add the lemon zest: Grate the zest from one lemon and add it to the salt mixture. The lemon zest will infuse the salt with a refreshing citrusy note that’s perfect for brightening up savory dishes.

  3. Optional—Add black pepper: If you enjoy a bit of spice, sprinkle in some freshly ground black pepper. The pepper complements the salt’s mineral richness, giving your blend a savory depth.

  4. Store the salt: Transfer your blue salt blend to a small airtight container. Keep it in a cool, dry place. I like to use mine within a month, but it can last longer if stored properly.

Notes

If you can’t find blue salt, regular Himalayan pink salt can be used as a substitute. However, the blue salt’s striking color and mineral content are what make it unique.

You can adjust the lemon zest to your liking, more zest for a zippier, fresher flavor or less for a subtler touch.

Feel free to experiment with other spices, like thyme or rosemary, to make the salt blend your own.
