Description

A refreshing blueberry lemonade perfect for hot summer days, made with simple ingredients and easy steps.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup blueberries (fresh or frozen)
  • ½ cup sugar (adjust to taste)
  • Juice from 45 lemons (about ¾ cup)
  • Peels from 23 lemons (optional)
  • 1 cup water (for the syrup)
  • 4 cups cold water (for the lemonade)
  • Mint leaves, lemon peels, and additional blueberries for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Juice the lemons to get about ¾ cup of juice.
  2. In a medium saucepan, combine blueberries, sugar, lemon peels (if using), and 1 cup of water. Heat over medium until sugar dissolves and blueberries pop (3-4 minutes).
  3. Remove from heat, let cool, and strain the syrup to remove the berries and peels.
  4. In a large pitcher, mix the blueberry syrup with 4 cups of cold water to taste.
  5. Chill in the fridge for 20-30 minutes.
  6. Serve over ice and garnish with mint leaves, lemon slices, and extra blueberries.

Notes

This drink pairs well with grilled foods and is perfect for summer gatherings.
