Description

This sweet and smoky Burnt Honey Pie is a quick and comforting dessert perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 pie crust (store-bought or homemade)
  • 3 large eggs
  • 1/4 cup sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream
  • Sea salt (for topping)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a medium saucepan, gently heat the honey over medium-low heat until it turns a rich, deep amber color, about 5-7 minutes. Remove from heat and let cool slightly.
  3. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the eggs, sugar, salt, and cornstarch until smooth.
  4. Stir in the cooled honey, vanilla extract, and heavy cream until well combined.
  5. Pour the filling into your pie crust, smoothing it out.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes until the filling is set and the top is caramelized.
  7. Let the pie cool slightly before serving, and sprinkle with sea salt.

Notes

Serve warm or at room temperature, great with whipped cream or vanilla ice cream.
