A quick and easy puff pastry tart topped with caramelized onions and Gruyère cheese, perfect for busy weeknights.

- 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
- 2 large onions, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 cup Gruyère cheese, grated
- 1 tablespoon fresh thyme leaves
- 1 egg, for egg wash
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the sliced onions and salt; cook until golden brown and caramelized (15-20 minutes).
- Roll out the puff pastry on a floured surface to fit a tart pan or baking sheet.
- Spread the caramelized onions evenly over the pastry, then sprinkle with Gruyère cheese and thyme.
- Beat the egg and brush the edges of the pastry with it.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 20-25 minutes until the pastry is golden brown.
- Let cool for a minute, slice, and serve warm.
