Ingredients

- 2 cups fresh or frozen cherries, pitted
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup rolled oats
- 1/2 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×9-inch baking dish.
- In a bowl, combine the cherries, granulated sugar, cornstarch, and vanilla extract; mix well and set aside.
- In a separate bowl, mix the flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, baking powder, and salt together. Add the melted butter and mix until crumbly.
- Press half of the crumble mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared baking dish.
- Spread the cherry mixture evenly over the crust.
- Sprinkle the remaining crumble mixture on top of the cherries.
- Bake for 30-35 minutes, until the top is golden brown.
- Allow to cool before cutting into bars and serving.
Notes
These bars can be served warm or at room temperature. They pair excellently with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream.
