Description

An incredibly delicious Crispy Hot Honey Shrimp recipe that comes together in about 30 minutes, perfect for a weeknight meal.


Ingredients

  • 1 lb shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup cornstarch
  • 1 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp onion powder
  • 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
  • Salt to taste
  • Oil for frying
  • 1/3 cup honey
  • 2 tbsp hot sauce
  • 1 tbsp lemon juice

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, cornstarch, garlic powder, onion powder, cayenne pepper, and salt. Mix until well combined.
  2. Dredge the shrimp in the flour mixture until each shrimp is fully coated.
  3. Heat enough oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat, about 1/2 inch deep.
  4. Fry the shrimp for 2-3 minutes on each side until golden and crispy.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk together honey, hot sauce, and lemon juice.
  6. Once the shrimp are cooked, use a slotted spoon to remove them from the oil and drain on paper towels.
  7. Toss the hot shrimp in the honey mixture until well coated.
  8. Serve immediately as an appetizer or main dish.

Notes

These shrimp are best served fresh but can be stored in an airtight container for 2-3 days in the fridge. Reheat in the oven for extra crispiness.
