Description

A delightful Doughnut Cake that comes together quickly and is topped with a spiced glaze, perfect for a comforting treat.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/2 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 23 tablespoons milk (for glaze)
  • 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy for about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until combined.
  4. In another bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, salt, cinnamon, and nutmeg.
  5. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk until just combined.
  6. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth out the top.
  7. Bake for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  8. While the cake is baking, mix together the powdered sugar, milk, and cinnamon in a small bowl until smooth and glossy.
  9. Once the cake is out of the oven and cooled for about 10-15 minutes, pour the glaze over the top and let set before serving.
