Description

An absolutely delicious Apple Tarte Tatin that comes together in about 45 minutes, perfect for impressing guests with minimal effort.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 sheet puff pastry (thawed if frozen)
  • ¼ cup (60 g) salted butter
  • ¼ cup (50 g) sugar
  • 4 apples (around 600 g), peeled, cored, quartered

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 220°C (428°F).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry lightly and trim to fit your pan, cutting 4 small slits in the middle.
  3. Melt the butter over medium heat in an oven-safe pan and add sugar, stirring gently until caramelized.
  4. Add the apples, flat side down, and cook for about 10 minutes before flipping and cooking for another 8-10 minutes until caramelized.
  5. Place the puff pastry over the apples, tucking the edges in.
  6. Bake in the oven for about 20 minutes until the crust is puffed and golden.
  7. Flip the tart immediately while hot onto a plate or rack.
  8. Cool for a few minutes before slicing and serving, optionally with ice cream.

Notes

This tart keeps well in the refrigerator for 3-4 days and can be reheated in a preheated oven. It’s also freezer-friendly for up to 2-3 months.
