Description

A quick and easy weeknight meal that’s a delightful twist on classic Philly cheesesteak, perfect for family comfort food.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 450g lean ground beef
  • 30g butter
  • 1 small yellow onion, diced
  • 1 small green bell pepper, diced
  • 230g brown mushrooms, minced
  • 30g ketchup
  • 240ml beef broth
  • 225g provolone cheese, chopped or shredded
  • 6 brioche hamburger buns

Instructions

  1. In a large skillet over medium-high heat, brown the beef for about 5 minutes. Season with salt and pepper, then set aside.
  2. In the same skillet, melt the butter and sauté the onion and bell pepper for 3-4 minutes, then add the mushrooms and cook until browned, around 3 minutes.
  3. Mix ketchup and beef broth in a bowl, then pour it into the skillet with the veggies and simmer for 3-4 minutes until thickened.
  4. Return the beef to the skillet, combine, and stir in the provolone cheese until melted.
