Description

A quick and easy appetizer featuring flaky puff pastry filled with savory mushrooms and leeks, perfect for any occasion.


Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed
  • 200g finely chopped mushrooms (cremini, shiitake, or button)
  • 1 leek, finely sliced
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 beaten egg (or plant-based milk for vegan option)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Heat olive oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add mushrooms and leeks, sauté until soft (about 5-7 minutes). Season with salt and pepper.
  3. Roll out puff pastry on a floured surface and cut it into 3-inch squares.
  4. Place a small amount of the mushroom and leek mixture in the center of each square.
  5. Fold the corners of the pastry over the filling and pinch to seal. Brush the tops with beaten egg.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden brown and flaky.
  7. Serve warm and enjoy!
