Description

A quick and easy Greek Honey Cake that combines honey and warm spices for a delightful dessert.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup honey
  • 1 cup Greek yogurt
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil
  • 3 eggs
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tablespoon baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 cup walnuts, chopped (optional)
  • Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a cake pan.
  2. In a large bowl, mix together the honey, Greek yogurt, and vegetable oil until well combined.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition.
  4. In a separate bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt, and whisk together.
  5. Gradually incorporate the dry ingredients into the wet mixture until just combined.
  6. If using walnuts, fold them in at this point.
  7. Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth out the top.
  8. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
  9. Allow to cool before removing from the pan and dust with powdered sugar before serving, if desired.

Notes

Serve with a dollop of whipped cream or vanilla ice cream. Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 4 days.
