- 1 pound minced beef
- 1 cup Guinness stout
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 carrots, diced
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
- Salt and pepper to taste
- 1 package puff pastry
- 1 egg (for egg wash)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
- In a large skillet, cook the minced beef over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the chopped onion, carrots, and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onions are softened, around 4-5 minutes.
- Stir in the flour and cook for another minute.
- Pour in the Guinness and add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 20 minutes until the sauce thickens.
- Roll out the puff pastry and fit one layer into a pie dish. Pour the beef mixture into the pastry shell.
- Cover with another layer of puff pastry, sealing the edges.
- Brush the top with the beaten egg.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and flaky.
Notes
Store in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. For best texture when reheating, warm in the oven.
