Description

This hearty Guinness Beef Pie is perfect for cozy weeknight dinners and can be customized with your favorite ingredients.


Ingredients

  • 1 pound minced beef
  • 1 cup Guinness stout
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 carrots, diced
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 package puff pastry
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. In a large skillet, cook the minced beef over medium heat until browned, about 5-7 minutes.
  3. Add the chopped onion, carrots, and minced garlic to the skillet and cook until the onions are softened, around 4-5 minutes.
  4. Stir in the flour and cook for another minute.
  5. Pour in the Guinness and add the Worcestershire sauce, salt, and pepper. Simmer for about 20 minutes until the sauce thickens.
  6. Roll out the puff pastry and fit one layer into a pie dish. Pour the beef mixture into the pastry shell.
  7. Cover with another layer of puff pastry, sealing the edges.
  8. Brush the top with the beaten egg.
  9. Bake for 25-30 minutes until golden brown and flaky.

Notes

Store in the fridge for up to 3-4 days. For best texture when reheating, warm in the oven.
