Description

Delicious Homemade Cheesy Breadsticks that come together in about 30 minutes, perfect for a quick weeknight dinner.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 packet active dry yeast
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup warm water
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons butter, melted
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
  • 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (optional)

Instructions

  1. Dissolve the yeast in a small bowl with warm water and sugar; let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Combine flour and salt in a large bowl, creating a well in the center.
  3. Add yeast mixture and olive oil to the well; mix to form a dough and knead for 5 minutes.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour.
  5. Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
  6. Roll the risen dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
  7. Transfer the dough to a greased baking sheet.
  8. Mix melted butter with minced garlic; brush over the dough.
  9. Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly on top.
  10. Add optional dried herbs if desired.
  11. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges are golden brown.
  12. Allow to cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.

Notes

Customize with different cheeses or toppings from your fridge. Pairs perfectly with marinara sauce.
