Ingredients

- 2 cups all-purpose flour
- 1 packet active dry yeast
- 1 teaspoon sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 3/4 cup warm water
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 2 tablespoons butter, melted
- 2 cloves garlic, minced (optional)
- 1 teaspoon dried Italian herbs (optional)
Instructions
- Dissolve the yeast in a small bowl with warm water and sugar; let it sit for 5 minutes.
- Combine flour and salt in a large bowl, creating a well in the center.
- Add yeast mixture and olive oil to the well; mix to form a dough and knead for 5 minutes.
- Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise in a warm area for about 1 hour.
- Preheat the oven to 450°F (232°C).
- Roll the risen dough into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick.
- Transfer the dough to a greased baking sheet.
- Mix melted butter with minced garlic; brush over the dough.
- Sprinkle mozzarella and Parmesan cheese evenly on top.
- Add optional dried herbs if desired.
- Bake for 12-15 minutes or until the cheese is bubbly and the edges are golden brown.
- Allow to cool slightly, then slice and serve warm.
Notes
Customize with different cheeses or toppings from your fridge. Pairs perfectly with marinara sauce.
