Description

A delicious and comforting homemade Thanksgiving stuffing that can be customized with your favorite ingredients. Perfect for family gatherings!


Ingredients

  • 1 loaf of bread (cubed)
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 1 onion (diced)
  • 23 celery stalks (diced)
  • 23 cups vegetable or chicken broth
  • 1 tablespoon dried sage
  • 1 tablespoon dried thyme
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 cup fresh parsley (chopped)
  • 1 cup cooked sausage (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. In a large skillet, melt the butter over medium heat.
  3. Add the diced onion and celery, and sauté until softened (about 5-7 minutes).
  4. In a large bowl, combine the cubed bread, sautéed vegetables, broth, herbs, salt, pepper, and parsley.
  5. If using, fold in the cooked sausage.
  6. Transfer the mixture to a greased baking dish.
  7. Bake for 30-40 minutes until the top is golden brown and crispy.
  8. Serve warm as a side dish.

Notes

This stuffing can be customized with leftover vegetables or different herbs. Stores well in the refrigerator for 3-4 days or can be frozen for up to three months.
