Ingredients

  • Hot Dogs
  • Cornmeal
  • All-Purpose Flour
  • Baking Powder
  • Honey
  • Milk
  • 1 Egg
  • Salt
  • Vegetable Oil for Frying

Instructions

  1. In a big bowl, mix the cornmeal, flour, baking powder, and salt together until thoroughly combined.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the milk and egg until well combined.
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined; the batter should be thick.
  4. Pour vegetable oil into a deep fryer or pot and heat to 375°F.
  5. Insert wooden skewers into each hot dog.
  6. Roll each skewered hot dog into the batter until completely covered.
  7. Carefully drop the battered corn dogs into the hot oil and fry for 3-5 minutes until golden brown.
  8. Remove from oil and place on paper towels to drain excess oil.
