Description

A quick and easy one-pan Honey Glazed Chicken recipe that comes together in about 30 minutes, perfect for weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 450g chicken breast or thighs, cut into strips
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable or olive oil
  • 60ml soy sauce
  • 60ml honey or brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons rice vinegar or apple cider vinegar
  • 2 cloves garlic, finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon grated ginger
  • 1 teaspoon cornstarch mixed with 1 tablespoon of water

Instructions

  1. Season the chicken strips with a couple pinches of salt and pepper.
  2. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Toss in the chicken pieces and cook for about 5-7 minutes until golden brown.
  3. Remove the chicken and set it aside, keeping the skillet on the heat.
  4. Add the soy sauce, honey, vinegar, garlic, and ginger to the skillet and bring it to a simmer, stirring occasionally for about 4-5 minutes.
  5. Whisk in the cornstarch mixture and cook until the sauce thickens, about 1-2 minutes.
  6. Return the chicken to the skillet and coat well with the sauce. Cook for another 3-5 minutes until heated through.
  7. Serve with a sprinkle of sesame seeds or green onions.

Notes

This dish pairs well with rice or mashed potatoes and can be easily customized with various vegetables.
