Description

Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • Vinegar (optional for boiling eggs)
  • ¼ medium yellow onion (finely chopped, about ⅓ cup)
  • 3 cloves garlic (minced, about 2 tablespoons)
  • 1 stalk green onion (sliced)
  • 1 chili pepper (finely chopped or sliced, optional for spice)
  • 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
  • 10 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 5 tablespoons honey
  • ¼ cup water

Instructions

  1. Boil the Eggs: Bring a pot of water to a boil, then gently place eggs in. Boil for 6 minutes, then plunge into ice water.
  2. Make the Mayak Marinade: In a bowl, combine onion, garlic, green onion, chili pepper, sesame seeds, soy sauce, honey, and water. Mix well.
  3. Marinate the Eggs: Peel cooled eggs, place in an airtight container, pour marinade over. Seal and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.

Notes

Serve the eggs over rice with sesame oil and a drizzle of marinade. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week.
