- 6 large eggs
- Vinegar (optional for boiling eggs)
- ¼ medium yellow onion (finely chopped, about ⅓ cup)
- 3 cloves garlic (minced, about 2 tablespoons)
- 1 stalk green onion (sliced)
- 1 chili pepper (finely chopped or sliced, optional for spice)
- 1 tablespoon toasted sesame seeds
- 10 tablespoons soy sauce
- 5 tablespoons honey
- ¼ cup water
Instructions
- Boil the Eggs: Bring a pot of water to a boil, then gently place eggs in. Boil for 6 minutes, then plunge into ice water.
- Make the Mayak Marinade: In a bowl, combine onion, garlic, green onion, chili pepper, sesame seeds, soy sauce, honey, and water. Mix well.
- Marinate the Eggs: Peel cooled eggs, place in an airtight container, pour marinade over. Seal and refrigerate for at least 6 hours, preferably overnight.
Notes
Serve the eggs over rice with sesame oil and a drizzle of marinade. Store in the fridge for up to 1 week.
