A soul-soothing Pulled Pork recipe that’s perfect for busy families. Cooked low and slow, it’s tender, flavorful, and can be customized with various ingredients.


Ingredients

  • 4 pounds pork shoulder (bone-in or boneless)
  • 1 cup barbecue sauce (tangy-sweet)
  • 2 medium onions, sliced
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 teaspoons smoked paprika
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • Salt, to taste
  • Pepper, to taste
  • Buns for serving (optional)

Instructions

  1. Place sliced onions and minced garlic in the bottom of the slow cooker.
  2. Season the pork shoulder with smoked paprika, cumin, salt, and pepper, rubbing the mixture all over the meat.
  3. Layer the seasoned pork on top of the onions and garlic.
  4. Pour barbecue sauce over the pork, covering it completely.
  5. Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for about 8-10 hours until tender and easily shredded.
  6. Remove the pork from the cooker, shred it using two forks, and mix it with the juices from the pot.
  7. Serve on buns if desired.
