- 1 package cheese ravioli
- 1 pound Italian sausage
- 1 onion, chopped
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 4 cups chicken broth
- 1 can (14.5 ounces) diced tomatoes
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Salt and pepper to taste
- Fresh basil for garnish
Instructions
- In a large pot over medium heat, cook the Italian sausage until browned for about 5-7 minutes.
- Add the chopped onion and minced garlic; sauté for 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
- Pour in the chicken broth and stir in the canned diced tomatoes; bring to a boil.
- Add the cheese ravioli and cook according to package instructions, about 4-5 minutes.
- Reduce heat and gently stir in the heavy cream, warming through for about 2 minutes.
- Season with salt and pepper to taste.
- Ladle into bowls and garnish with fresh basil before serving hot.
