Description

A unique and flavorful take on bacon using rice paper, perfect for a vegan treat.


Ingredients

  • 10 pieces rice paper
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons maple syrup
  • ½ teaspoon dark miso
  • 6 tablespoons tamari or soy sauce
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F.
  2. Prepare two baking trays lined with parchment paper.
  3. Mix the marinade: In a bowl, whisk together olive oil, maple syrup, dark miso, tamari, garlic powder, and liquid smoke.
  4. Soak two pieces of rice paper under lukewarm water until pliable.
  5. Cut the softened rice paper into strips about 2 inches wide and 6 inches long.
  6. Marinate each strip in the marinade, coating both sides.
  7. Arrange the marinated strips on the baking sheets without overlapping.
  8. Bake for 7-8 minutes, watching closely to prevent burning.
  9. Serve and enjoy warm or cold!
