Description

Delicious and crispy rice paper samosas made in under 30 minutes, perfect for busy weeknights.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 tablespoon Kikkoman® Sesame Oil
  • 1 medium Russet Potato, peeled and cubed
  • 1 medium White Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 medium Red Bell Pepper, diced
  • 2 cloves Garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon Ground Cumin
  • 1/2 teaspoon Ground Turmeric
  • 1 teaspoon Sea Salt
  • 1/4 cup Cilantro, chopped
  • 1 cup Peas (frozen)
  • 8 sheets Rice Paper
  • 1 cup Kikkoman® Gluten-Free Sweet Chili Sauce

Instructions

  1. Prep the fillings: Start by peeling and cubing your potato. Chop up your onion and dice the bell pepper.
  2. Warm up the oil: In a skillet over medium heat, heat the sesame oil.
  3. Sauté those onions: Add the chopped onion to the skillet and sauté for about 2-3 minutes until they look translucent.
  4. Toss in the garlic, potato, and red bell pepper. Season with a couple pinches of salt and pepper, then stir for about 5 minutes until the veggies start to soften.
  5. Sprinkle in the cumin, turmeric, and another pinch of salt, stirring it for about 1 minute until fragrant.
  6. Fold in the peas and let them cook for about 2-3 minutes until they’re nice and tender.
  7. Mix in the chopped cilantro and let that filling cool for about 10 minutes.
  8. Dip a rice paper sheet in warm water for about 10 seconds, lay it flat, fill it with about 2 tablespoons of filling, and roll it up like a burrito.
  9. Heat oil in a deep skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the samosas for about 3-4 minutes on each side until they’re golden brown.
  10. Transfer them to a paper towel-lined plate to drain any excess oil. Serve hot with sweet chili sauce for dipping!

Notes

These samosas can be frozen before frying. Just wrap each assembled samosa in plastic wrap, then place them in a freezer-safe bag.
