Description

A super comforting and easy lasagna made with sausage and ricotta, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 9 lasagna noodles
  • 1 pound ground sausage
  • 15 ounces ricotta cheese
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 1 egg
  • 2 cups marinara sauce
  • 2 tablespoons fresh parsley
  • 2 tablespoons fresh basil
  • Salt and pepper to taste

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C).
  2. Cook the lasagna noodles according to package instructions for about 8-10 minutes, then set aside.
  3. In a skillet over medium heat, cook the ground sausage until browned (about 6 minutes).
  4. In a bowl, mix the ricotta cheese, egg, parsley, basil, salt, and pepper until smooth.
  5. Spread half a cup of marinara sauce on the bottom of a baking dish.
  6. Layer three lasagna noodles over the sauce, then add half the ricotta mixture, half the sausage, and 1 cup of mozzarella cheese on top.
  7. Repeat the layers, then top with remaining marinara sauce, mozzarella cheese, and Parmesan cheese.
  8. Cover with foil and bake for 25 minutes, then remove the foil and bake for another 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
  9. Let sit for 10 minutes before serving.

Notes

Feel free to add leftover veggies or change the protein to customize this dish.
