Description

This deliciously simple Small Batch Cherry Jam comes together in about 30 minutes and is perfect for breakfast, snacks, or desserts!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2½ cups halved and pitted sweet cherries (fresh or frozen)
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice (from about one lemon)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the Cherries: Wash the fresh cherries thoroughly, halve, and pit them.
  2. Combine Ingredients: In a medium-sized pot, mix the pitted cherries, granulated sugar, and lemon juice.
  3. Cook the Jam: Over medium heat, bring the mixture to a simmer and cook for 10-15 minutes, stirring frequently.
  4. Test for Doneness: Place a spoonful of jam on a plate and cool it in the freezer. If it holds its shape, it’s ready!
  5. Jar It Up: Pour the warm jam into sterilized jars and seal them, or let cool if enjoying right away.

Notes

This jam can be stored in the fridge for up to three weeks or properly canned for longer shelf life.
