Description

Delicious brown butter cookies made with sourdough discard for a uniquely rich flavor.


Ingredients

  • 1 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup brown sugar
  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 1 cup chocolate chips

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Melt the butter in a medium saucepan over medium heat, stirring frequently until golden brown.
  3. Cooldown the browned butter slightly.
  4. Mix the browned butter with brown sugar and granulated sugar until blended.
  5. Add in the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing until smooth.
  6. Whisk the flour, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt together in another bowl.
  7. Combine the dry ingredients with the wet mixture until just combined.
  8. Fold in the sourdough discard and chocolate chips.
  9. Form dough balls and drop onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper.
  10. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until edges are golden.
  11. Cool on the baking sheet before transferring to a wire rack.
