Description

Delicious Sourdough Pretzel Bites that come together in about 30 minutes, perfect for a fun snack your family will love!


Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup sourdough discard
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup warm water
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • Flaky sea salt for sprinkling
  • Optional – melted butter for brushing

Instructions

  1. Combine the sourdough discard, warm water, sugar, and salt in a large bowl and stir until well mixed.
  2. Add in the flour gradually, kneading until a soft dough forms.
  3. Divide the dough into small pieces—about 1-2 inches wide—and roll each into a rope about 6-8 inches long.
  4. Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C).
  5. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil and stir in the baking soda.
  6. Drop the pretzel bites into the boiling water, one at a time, and let them bathe for about 30 seconds.
  7. Remove them with a slotted spoon and place them on a greased baking sheet.
  8. Sprinkle with flaky sea salt and brush with melted butter if desired.
  9. Bake for 12-15 minutes, or until golden brown.
  10. Cool slightly before serving.

Notes

These pretzel bites can be served with mustard, cheese dip, or salsa. They freeze well and can be stored in an airtight container in the fridge for 3-4 days.
