Description

These Spicy Jalapeno Popper Twists are a quick and easy appetizer that combines the flavors of cheese and spice, perfect for gatherings or a cozy night in.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 package Puff Pastry (or pizza dough for a heartier option)
  • 8 oz Cream Cheese (softened; goat cheese can be used for a tangy twist)
  • 1 cup Shredded Sharp Cheddar Cheese (mozzarella is also a great substitute)
  • 2 medium Sliced Jalapenos (fresh or pickled depending on your spice level)
  • 1 tsp Garlic Powder (or fresh minced garlic for an extra flavor boost)
  • 1 large Egg (for an egg wash, or use milk for a vegan option)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C) for 5 minutes.
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface until about 1/8 inch thick, taking about 5 minutes.
  3. In a medium bowl, combine the softened cream cheese, shredded cheddar cheese, sliced jalapenos, and garlic powder. Stir until mixed to a creamy consistency, taking about 5 minutes.
  4. Cut the rolled-out pastry into strips, spoon a small amount of jalapeno mixture onto one end, and twist. This assembly takes about 10 minutes.
  5. Whisk the egg (or milk) and brush it over the tops of the twists, adding 2 minutes for prep.
  6. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes until golden and gooey.
  7. Remove from the oven, let cool for a minute, and serve.

Notes

These twists can be customized with other ingredients based on your preferences. Serve with dipping sauces like ranch or salsa for added flavor.
