Description

A quick and easy weeknight dinner featuring flavorful fried eggs in a spicy sweet and sour sauce, ready in just 15 minutes.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 eggs
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon chili sauce
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Chopped green onions for garnish

Instructions

  1. Make the sauce: In a bowl, whisk together the soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, chili sauce, and a couple pinches of salt and pepper until it’s blended nicely. Set it aside.
  2. Heat the oil: In a non-stick frying pan, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat.
  3. Fry the eggs: Crack the eggs into the hot oil carefully. Fry them until the whites are set and the yolks are still runny—about 3-4 minutes.
  4. Add the sauce: Drizzle your prepared sauce mixture over the eggs and cook for another minute.
  5. Garnish and serve: Remove from heat and sprinkle with chopped green onions.

Notes

Adjust the level of chili sauce according to your heat preference. Serve with steamed rice or quinoa for a complete meal.
