Ingredients

  • 1 package of puff pastry
  • 4 oz cream cheese, softened
  • 1/4 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup fresh strawberries, sliced
  • 1 egg (for egg wash)
  • 1 tablespoon milk (for egg wash)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C).
  2. Roll out the puff pastry on a lightly floured surface and cut into heart shapes.
  3. In a bowl, mix the softened cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Place a spoonful of the cream cheese mixture in the center of each heart shape and top with sliced strawberries.
  5. Fold the edges of the pastry over to create a border.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk together the egg and milk for the egg wash, then brush it over the pastries.
  7. Bake in the preheated oven for 15-20 minutes, or until golden brown.
  8. Allow to cool slightly before serving.
