Easy Tennessee Onions

Description

A comforting and cheesy side dish made with sweet onions and a blend of delicious cheeses, perfect for weeknight dinners.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 3 medium sweet onions (such as Vidalia, peeled and sliced into ¼-inch rings)
  • 4 tablespoons unsalted butter (melted)
  • 1 cup shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup shredded mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ teaspoon garlic powder
  • ½ teaspoon paprika
  • ½ teaspoon dried oregano (optional)
  • Salt and freshly ground black pepper (to taste)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lightly grease a 9×13-inch baking dish.
  2. Arrange the sliced onions evenly in the prepared baking dish.
  3. Drizzle the melted butter over the onions and season with garlic powder, paprika, oregano (if using), salt, and pepper. Gently toss to coat.
  4. Evenly scatter the cheddar, mozzarella, and Parmesan over the top of the layered onions.
  5. Bake for about 30-35 minutes, or until the cheese is bubbly and golden brown. Optionally, broil for a minute for an extra crispy top.
  6. Let cool for a few minutes before serving.
