Description

A delicious one-pot meal featuring eggs in a savory, spicy sauce that comes together in about 30 minutes.


Ingredients

  • 6 large eggs
  • 1½ tablespoons unsalted butter
  • ¼ cup garlic, minced
  • 2¼ teaspoons Old Bay seasoning
  • 3 teaspoons light brown sugar
  • ½ heaping teaspoon onion powder
  • 1½ teaspoons lemon pepper seasoning
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • ½1 teaspoon red chili flakes (or to taste)
  • ¾ cup low sodium chicken bone or vegetable broth
  • ¼ lemon, juiced
  • Kosher salt, optional
  • Flat leaf parsley, chopped, for garnish

Instructions

  1. Prepare the ice bath with cold water and ice.
  2. Boil the eggs in a saucepan for about 7-12 minutes.
  3. Plunge the eggs into the ice bath for about 2 minutes.
  4. Peel the eggs under running water.
  5. Melt the butter in a skillet over low heat.
  6. Add minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute.
  7. Mix in Old Bay seasoning, brown sugar, onion powder, lemon pepper, paprika, and red chili flakes.
  8. Add the broth and simmer for about 6 minutes to thicken.
  9. Squeeze in lemon juice and adjust salt to taste.
  10. Gently pour sauce over eggs, toss to coat, and garnish with parsley.
