Description
This vibrant Turmeric Rice comes together in about 20 minutes and is made all in one pot for a quick and easy weeknight meal that your family will love!
Ingredients

- 1 cup long-grain white rice (or jasmine/basmati/brown rice/quinoa)
- 2 cups water (or chicken/vegetable broth)
- 2 tablespoons butter (or olive oil)
- 1 teaspoon turmeric
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 onion, finely chopped
- Salt to taste
- Pepper to taste
Instructions
- Melt the butter (or olive oil) in a medium pot over medium heat, about 30 seconds.
- Add the chopped onion and cook for 3-5 minutes until translucent.
- Add the minced garlic and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds.
- Stir in the turmeric and cook for another 30 seconds.
- Add the rice and stir frequently for about 1 minute.
- Pour in the water (or broth), and a couple pinches of salt and pepper. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat to low and cover. Let simmer for 15-20 minutes.
- Remove from heat and let it sit covered for another 5 minutes.
- Fluff with a fork, taste, and adjust seasonings if needed. Enjoy!
Notes
Great as a side dish or as a base for a hearty bowl with veggies and protein. Can be customized with leftover ingredients.
