Description

A flavorful and versatile side dish made with just a few simple ingredients, perfect for busy weeknights.


Ingredients

  • 2 large onions
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 tablespoon salt
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable broth or seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • Pepper to taste
  • Fresh herbs for garnish (parsley or dill)

Instructions

  1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil in a large pot. Add 1 tablespoon of salt and 1 tablespoon of vegetable broth.
  2. While waiting for the water to boil, cut the onions in half and then into quarters.
  3. Carefully add the onion pieces to the boiling water and cook for about 10-15 minutes or until tender.
  4. Drain the onions in a colander and place them in a serving dish.
  5. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of olive oil, season with pepper, and garnish with fresh herbs.
  6. Serve warm alongside your favorite main dishes.

Notes

Customize by adding garlic, other vegetables, or different cooking fats like butter.
