- 500g Bread Flour
- 350g Water
- 100g Sourdough Starter
- 10g Salt
Instructions
- Combine the bread flour, water, and sourdough starter in a large mixing bowl until a shaggy dough forms.
- Cover the bowl with a damp cloth and let it sit for about 30 minutes.
- Sprinkle the salt over the dough and mix until incorporated.
- Transfer the dough to a floured surface and knead for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
- Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 3 to 4 hours until doubled in size.
- Preheat your oven to 450°F (230°C) about 30 minutes before baking.
- Transfer the risen dough onto a floured surface and shape it into a loaf.
- Place the shaped loaf in a proofing basket, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour.
- Score the top of the loaf with a sharp knife.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes until golden brown.
- Cool on a wire rack for at least 1 hour before slicing.
Notes
This bread can be customized with herbs, garlic powder, or cheese. It stores well for up to 4 days at room temperature and can be frozen for about 3 months.
