Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 slices of bread (preferably brioche, French, or challah)
  • 2 large eggs, beaten
  • 1/2 cup of milk (whole or 2%)
  • 2 tbsp of unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 tbsp of sugar (optional)
  • 1/4 tsp of salt
  • 1 tbsp of butter (for cooking)
  • Optional toppings: powdered sugar, melted chocolate, fresh berries

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the beaten eggs, milk, cocoa powder, sugar, and salt until smooth.
  2. Heat a skillet over medium heat and add butter until melted.
  3. Dip each slice of bread into the chocolate mixture for 2-3 seconds on each side.
  4. Cook the coated bread slices in the skillet for about 2-3 minutes on each side until golden brown.
