- 1 cup gluten-free flour
- 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- Pinch of salt
- 1 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup vegetable oil
- 2 eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 tablespoon red food coloring (optional)
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips or walnuts (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Prepare a square 9×9 baking dish by greasing it lightly with oil or lining it with parchment paper.
- Whisk together gluten-free flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt in a mixing bowl until combined.
- Combine in another bowl the sugar and vegetable oil, then add eggs one at a time, mixing in between. Stir in the vanilla extract.
- Mix the dry ingredients into the wet ingredients until just combined.
- Add in red food coloring if desired and stir until you reach your desired shade.
- Fold in chocolate chips or walnuts if using.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking dish and spread it evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking with a toothpick for doneness.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before serving.
