Description

A delicious, quick, and easy hot dog meat sauce perfect for busy weeknights, made in one pot with customizable ingredients.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 lb ground beef (or turkey/chicken)
  • 1 can (15 oz) tomato sauce
  • 1/4 cup ketchup
  • 2 tbsp mustard
  • 1 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Hot dogs of your choice
  • Buns (soft burger buns or hoagies)

Instructions

  1. Heat a skillet over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic and sauté for about 3-4 minutes until the onion is translucent.
  2. Brown the ground beef for about 5-7 minutes, draining any excess fat.
  3. Mix in the tomato sauce, ketchup, mustard, Worcestershire sauce, and season with salt and pepper.
  4. Let the mixture simmer and then reduce the heat. Cook for about 15-20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  5. Serve the hot dog meat sauce over hot dogs in buns.

Notes

This sauce is customizable; feel free to add vegetables or switch up the proteins as desired. It can also be used as a topping for baked potatoes.
