Description

A delightful Matcha Roll Cake made from a fluffy sponge cake rolled around matcha-infused whipped cream, perfect for a sweet treat your family will love.


Ingredients

  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/4 cup matcha powder
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 4 large eggs
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1/4 cup vegetable oil
  • 1 cup heavy whipping cream
  • 2 tablespoons powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon matcha powder (for filling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a jelly roll pan with parchment paper.
  2. Sift together the flour, matcha powder, baking powder, and salt in a bowl.
  3. Whisk the eggs and granulated sugar together until light and fluffy.
  4. Add the dry ingredients to your egg mixture, alternating with the milk and vegetable oil.
  5. Pour the batter into the prepared pan and spread it evenly.
  6. Bake for 12-15 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean.
  7. Allow the cake to cool slightly, then turn it out onto a powdered sugar-dusted kitchen towel.
  8. Roll the cake up with the towel starting from the short end and let it cool completely.
  9. Whip the heavy whipping cream and powdered sugar until soft peaks form, then add matcha powder.
  10. Unroll the cake gently and spread the matcha whipped cream evenly across the surface.
  11. Roll it back up without the towel.
  12. Slice and serve your matcha roll cake.
