Description

This delicious Panda Express Black Pepper Chicken comes together in about 30 minutes and is all cooked in one pot for a quick and easy weeknight meal that your family will love!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 2 lbs chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 1 cup celery, sliced
  • 1 onion, sliced
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, minced
  • 1 tablespoon ginger, minced
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

  1. Marinate the chicken: In a bowl, combine the chicken thighs with soy sauce and black pepper, letting it marinate for about 15 minutes.
  2. Heat the oil: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, add vegetable oil.
  3. Sauté aromatics: Toss in the minced garlic and ginger, sautéing for about 30 seconds until fragrant.
  4. Cook the chicken: Add the marinated chicken to the skillet, spreading it out in a single layer. Cook for about 5-7 minutes, or until browned on all sides.
  5. Add veggies: Stir in the celery and onion, cooking until tender, about 4-5 minutes.
  6. Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, mix the cornstarch with chicken broth until smooth, then pour this mixture into the skillet while stirring frequently.
  7. Thicken the sauce: Cook until the sauce thickens, about 2-3 minutes.
  8. Season to taste: Add a couple pinches of salt to taste and stir gently.
  9. Serve: Serve hot over rice or noodles, with extra black pepper if desired.
