Description

A delicious focaccia bread that comes together in about 90 minutes, featuring fresh tomatoes and basil.


Ingredients

Scale
  • 500 g All-Purpose Flour
  • 10 g Salt
  • 7 g Active Dry Yeast
  • 300 ml Warm Water
  • 60 ml Olive Oil
  • 200 g Fresh Tomatoes, Sliced
  • A Handful of Fresh Basil, Roughly Chopped
  • Flaky Sea Salt for Sprinkling
  • Optional: A drizzle of balsamic glaze

Instructions

  1. Combine the flour, dry yeast, and salt in a large bowl.
  2. Pour in the warm water and olive oil, stirring until a rough dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a lightly floured surface for about 10 minutes until smooth and elastic.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover it with a damp cloth, and let it rise for about 60 minutes until doubled.
  5. Prepare a baking sheet by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  6. Punch down the risen dough and place it on the baking sheet, stretching it into a rectangle.
  7. Arrange the tomato slices and chopped basil on top, then sprinkle with flaky sea salt.
  8. Cover again and let it rest for 30 minutes.
  9. Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F).
  10. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  11. Let it cool for a few minutes and drizzle with balsamic glaze just before serving.
